Defeating the Undefeated

Lady Hawks Beat Previously Unbeaten Bonners Ferry

Liam Bradford, Sports Editor

Points in the paint were the name of the game for the Lakeland Lady Hawks (3-2) and the Bonners Ferry Lady Badgers(4-1) in a gritty and tough Tuesday night battle that resulted in a 60-49 win.

The game went back and forth throughout the first half, but the Lady Hawks pulled away in the second half and secured the victory.

Neither team was successfully able to knock down more than two three-pointers, but well over 100 points were scored in the game. For the most part, the game didn’t lack offense, but each point was hard-earned and tough. Neither team failed to get to the foul line many times, and there were almost 20 combined offensive rebounds.

As Coach Seymour mentioned, the Lady Hawks earned this victory more than any of their previous wins so far this season.

Lakeland handed the Bonners Ferry Lady Badgers their first loss of the season after starting the season on fire with a 4-0 record.

The Lady Hawks improved to 3-2 with their second straight win and will next play on Friday at seven at Coeur D’Alene.
