Though there are many great jersey combinations sports players and teams can put together, what is considered the best at Lakeland High School?
Varsity baseball has three different jerseys and two different pairs of pants. A white jersey with green letters. A green jersey with white letters, and a black jersey with white letters.
They also have gray pants with a green stripe and white pants with a green stripe.
After talking with a handful of players from the varsity team, many said their favorite uniform is the black jersey with white pants.
“The black uniforms are my favorite because they are just so different, and we have not worn them since like 2018,” Lovie Weil said.
This combination is smooth and looks good in games. The black with the green stripes leading down to the green stripe with the plain white pants is an incredible combination.
The white jersey with the white pants is also a highly recommended combination, as the whites go together very well.
“The white-on-white uniforms are a classic, and I love them,” senior Jace Cooksey said. “ The accessories and drip that we can wear with them match so well and I think it is the cleanest uniform we have.”
As for the Hawks football team, they display a green jersey and a white jersey, with white and green pants.
The green on green is a very smooth and majestic combination with yellow prints for the letters and scary yellow claw prints on the side to represent a hawk mark.
As for the white-on-white uniforms, they are clean and respectful. The white base with green and black letters is excellent.
“The white jerseys are so nice, it’s such a clean look, and honestly I feel like I play better when I wear the whites,” Haydon Benson said.
It has a different look when they throw together the mismatch of green and white, but it is almost like an alternate jersey for the Hawks.
As for the white on green, it is kind of awkward, but it still looks good. The green letters on the white jersey do not match the green pants, which makes this uniform combination goofy, yet still looks scary and sound on the field.
There is always the expression “drip over skill,” but for any Hawk Athletics, it is both drip and skill. Each sport’s jerseys look good, and the athletes who wear them play even better.
