Hawks Start Season down South

Baseball

Lakeland took a trip down to Boise for a four-game tournament. They started the tournament hot, and took down Emmett, winning 9-7. The Hawks put together 9 runs off 7 hits in that game and Emmett had 8 hits with Sean Tierney and Payden Wysong pitching the game. 

After that game, they played Boise for the second game of their doubleheader. They lost to Boise, 8-1. The Hawks had 1 hit while Boise had 12, with Garrett Love pitching the length of the game. 

The following day the Hawks played Ridgevue and lost 10-4. However, the Hawks had 7 hits to Ridgevues 5. Jacob Shaffner, Sam Pemberton, and Cam Harris pitching the entirety of the game. 

To complete their tournament, they played Nampa Christian and lost 16-6. They had 7 hits, and Nampa Christian had 13 with Sean Tierney, Jacob Shaffner, and Tim Sheppard pitching the game. 

After the tournament, and post-spring break they played at home in a doubleheader against Moscow. In the first game they lost 21-4, logging 6 hits, while Moscow had 9, with Sean Tierney, Garrett Love, Payden Wysong, Tim Sheppard, and Caleb Mason pitching the game. 

In their second game they lost 16-0 behind just 1 hit, with Moscow having 11 hits, Jacob Shaffner, Sam Pemberton, Cam Harris, and Jace Cooksey pitched the game. 

The Lakeland Hawks Baseball will play Coeur d’Alene in a doubleheader, on Saturday, April 9th at 12 and 2 PM. 

Softball

The Lakeland Lady Hawks played 4 games and went 1-3, winning against Twin Falls 4-1, then losing against Kuna 9-6, Middleton 16-2, and Boise 12-2. 

They will face St. Maries at 4 PM on Tuesday, April 5th.
