The Lakeland drama department in conjunction with the Lakeland music department opened their musical “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” Thursday night at Lakeland High School.

I give it a two thumbs up.

The students and stage crew of the drama department, as well as the musicians and singers of band and choir, have teamed up in this energetic and amusing production of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.”

The story of Charlie Brown, played by Nathan Lewis, and the Peanut Gang comes to life in a lively and dynamic way, under the direction of Allison Knoll and musical direction of Mark Sescilla.

Ciara McKinzie makes a very convincing Lucy. Savannah Helmholz is a comedic partner, as Woodstock, to Jade Loeden’s Snoopy. Loeden’s Snoopy steals the show with her singing, dancing, and comedic talent.

A shout out to the mini-Woodstocks and bunnies who bring the cute factor to the stage.

I would highly recommend coming to the encore performance tonight at 7 p.m. or to Saturday’s matinee at 2 p.m. The cost is $5. You will not be disappointed.
