The lone Lakeland Hawk that ran at state for cross country on Friday, October 29th at Eagle Island State park in Boise Idaho, Owen Elizondo, placed 64th out of 111.

He ran the 3.1-mile race with a time of 17:52 minutes. With a pace of about 5:45 per mile.

The head coach of the team, Ms. Hall, was very proud of Owen’s performance at the state tournament.

“Owen ran a great race at Eagle Island with a time of 17:52, or 5 minutes and 45 seconds per mile for his pace.  Owen is a hard-working, talented runner, and we look forward to his leadership next fall in our 2022 cross country season,” Hall stated.

With the State tournament, that concludes the 2021 cross country season for the Hawks.
