As summer break is around the corner and you’re starting to have more free time to have fun, there are plenty of things that you can do that are around the area. 

Coeur d’Alene is a great place to go for summer, especially because of the lake and the downtown area. There are plenty of restaurants and shops that are within walking distance from the lake, if you are looking to spend money. 

If you want to go swimming there are many lakes that you can choose from. One lake close to Rathdrum is Hauser lake. 

Hauser lake is located in Hauser and is about a 10 minute drive from Rathdrum, it’s a very pretty lake, you can swim and fish here.

In Post Falls, which is about 15 minutes from Rathdrum is Q´emiln Park.

Q´emiln park has many activities that you can do, the first one is the lake, it also has a playground, and has a trail. This trail is great to walk on and people even go rock climbing here, this park would definitely be a great place to go this summer. 

Another swimming spot to go to is Honeysuckle Beach in Hayden lake, it’s about a 20 minute drive from Rathdrum

Hiking is also a great summer fun idea.

A great place to go hiking just in Rathdrum is the Rathdrum Mountain Park, it has beautiful trails and a small creek running through.

In Coeur d´Alene there are quite a few trails that you can go on.

Tubbs hill is a great place to walk trails, you can go around the mountain. It’s about a 2 mile walk to do the full trail, and there are plenty of trails that go off into different directions that are shorter as well. 

For some summer fun if you are looking to spend some money is Silverwood Theme Park which is 20 minutes away from Rathdrum. Silverwood recently came out with a new ride called Stunt Pilot, definitely going to go on this ride this summer. Tickets to go to Silverwood are $59 for people eight and up.

Zip-lining is also a fun activity if you are feeling adventurous.

To go Zip-lining you´d have to go to Timberline Adventures in Coeur d’Alene. To go zip-lining it costs $99 to go seven times per person, but if you are looking for a cheaper option it costs $59 to go four times.
