Hawks Loss to High Scoring Timberwolves

The Lakeland Hawks had 3 different players, each having a run in a 3-13 loss to the Lake City Timberwolves. 

Phoebe Schultze started the game as the pitcher for the Timberwolves, who pitched every inning in the game. 

At the bottom of the 1st inning, Haylee Smit scores on a ground ball by Cienna Walls. Schultze strikes out Kyleigh Dyer at the end of the inning. 

The Timberwolves got the chance to score, with Devry Bursch pitching for the Hawks. The Timberwolve were able to score with Hope Bodak on an error. 

Throughout innings 2-4, no points were scored on either side, until the Timberwolves had 4 runs in the 4th inning and 6 runs in the 5th inning. Making the score 11-1. 

The Hawks falling behind to the Timberwolves, both Erin Byrne and Cienna Walls scored a run in the 5th inning. 

At the end of the game, the score ended with the Timberwolves winning 13-3, with 4 players on the Timberwolves scoring 2 runs each. 

The Lakeland Hawks’ next game is away against the Sandpoint Bulldogs, Thursday May 6 at 2pm.
