Harley See scored two runs against the Coeur d’Alene Vikings in a 18-5 loss at Lakeland High School.

The game started off rough for the Hawks, with the Vikings getting 6 runs in the first 2 innings, while Lakeland had no runs. To try to combat the scoring ability of the Vikings, the starting pitcher Kathryn Wardak switched with Dervy Bursch at the start of the 3rd inning.

The 3rd inning saw some increase in the Hawks with 3 runs scored in the 3rd inning alone, yet the Vikings were too much for the Hawks and scored 8 runs in the inning, which was the highest scoring inning throughout the matchup.

Entering the 4th inning, the score was 14-3. Derby Bursch threw 3 quick outs for the Hawks to come up to bat. The Hawks scored a run making the score 14-4.

The game was pretty quiet with scores until the top of the 6th inning, when the Coeur d’Alene Vikings scored 4 points and closed the game with the final score of 18-5.

The Lakeland Hawks next game is Tuesday, April 20th at Lakeland High School against the Post Fall Trojans at 4pm.
