The Lakeland Hawks 2026 baseball season has come to an end, and what a season this year was. The Hawks finished the season with a record of 9-12 overall and a league record of 5-9.
A huge improvement for last season, the Hawks took 3rd overall in state and contributed many all league athletes. Jake Larcher made all league infield, as well as Jace Taylor and Nate Bevaqua. Landon Puzio was all league as well under the pitching category.
The final game for the Hawks was against the Lewiston Bengals in the 5A district tournament, the Hawks looked strong through the whole game and played with everything they had left.
Lakeland would go on to tie late in the game giving the Bengals one more chance to secure the win, and that’s what they did with a walkoff single bringing the winning run home. A devastating way to lose late in the season but the score does not do justice at to how hard the Hawks fought for all innings.
Not once did they fold, it was a scrappy, and well played game all the way to the end. “It’s a game I know we could have won, but we played hard and at the end of the day we gave it everything,” Jake Larcher said.
The Hawks throughout the season showed grit, and determination despite any sort of speed bumps they faced throughout the year. Many accomplishments were made this year for the Hawks on the stat sheets with a team batting average of 320, 34 doubles, 50 stolen bases, and 4 home runs.
