The Idaho State Track and Field Championships brought together top athletes from Lakeland High School, Lewiston High School, Sandpoint High School and Moscow High School for a weekend full of strong performances and championship moments. When the dust settled, the Lakeland girls captured first place as a team while the Lakeland boys battled their way to a fourth-place finish against some of the best competition in the state.
Lakeland’s girls team was led by standout performances in the throwing events. Jackie Robbins dominated the competition by taking first place in both the shot put and women’s discus. Robbins showed consistency and power throughout the meet, helping secure crucial points for the Hawks on their way to the team title.
The Lakeland boys also had a strong showing in the field events. Brayden Carrel earned a first-place finish in the boys shot put, giving Lakeland another state champion. Carrel’s performance highlighted the strength of Lakeland’s throwing program and energized the Hawks throughout the meet.
In the pole vault, Alyssa Hinkle added another impressive performance for Lakeland. Competing against talented vaulters from across the state, Hinkle delivered in one of the meet’s most competitive events and helped the Hawks continue to pile up points in the standings.
Athletes from Lewiston, Sandpoint and Moscow also delivered strong performances across the track and field events, making the state meet highly competitive from start to finish. From sprint races to distance events and field competitions, the meet showcased some of the top talent in Idaho high school athletics.
For Lakeland, however, the weekend belonged to the girls team. Behind multiple individual state titles and strong performances across the board, the Hawks proved they were one of the best teams in the state. The boys team’s fourth-place finish also showed Lakeland’s depth and ability to compete at a high level against tough programs from around Idaho.
