The door bell rings and within ten minutes the house is filled with laughter and excitement for
the night to come. Girl after girl walks in the door, hands full of makeup, dresses, and hair
curlers. Although the bathroom is crowded, there is no place with silence, and the mirrors are
constantly occupied, the memory seems to move in slow motion. It’s Gracee Jaminson’s last
prom and the thought that she will never get the opportunity to be in this situation again makes
her cherish every moment. Every joke, every compliment is documented in her favorite
memories.
“Dont wish time away, because later you are going to wish you could go back,” Jaminson
It’s Jaminson senior year and as the years have passed by she has slowly realized how fast
time goes by and how much every memory should be appreciated.
She’s grown up in the lakeland school district all the way from elementary school. She loves to
spend time with her friends and family, walk her dogs and enjoy the small quiet times.
She passed through the halls of Garwood Elementary and into the gym of Lakeland Middle
School, until she reached the front doors of Lakeland High School and now she is looking
towards the future.
Jamison plans on going to NIC to study being a physical therapy assistant. She is ready to take
on her new self and responsibilities and is excited for new opportunities.
“Im really excited to expand my circle and meet new people,” Jaminson said.
For now, she is focusing on enjoying the present and soaking in every moment she gets left with
her friends, enjoying the laughs and the little moments.
“She’s just so fun to be around and she’s really funny,” Kimber Ganske.
