Depression is a real struggle that men, women, and children suffer from. It doesn’t only affect your head, it can cause problems to your heart, cause lack of sleep and can make you constantly tired.
The constant lack of sleep can make things worse as you may not get as much work done in school or your job and you may fall behind even farther than you are.
“I have actually gotten less sleep recently,” Braxton Riemche said. “It has done nothing but make me fall behind and cause me to be more stressed out.”
Heart problems can stem from the lack of sleep so you may be taking a lot of caffeine to keep you going throughout the day which can actually cause your heart more stress as it’s doing more work while lacking the sleep and rest it needs to function on a day to day basis.
Young adults and teenagers are some of the most targeted by this as school stress and social media also play a part in major depression.
“ I know a lot of fellow class mates that I know struggle with this constantly,” Kylee Wilson said. “It is mainly because of the effect of social media and the stress put on from being an athlete”.
Teenagers face a big amount of adversity with major roles of social media playing a role. School work and work that young adults and teenagers face can be harder for them to overcome as young adults are trying to get started in life and try to establish a manageable lifestyle.
The modern cost of living can be stressful for a young adult causing depression among them.
Sometimes it’s hard to get help or see a doctor because it can be too expensive or nerve racking.
Many young adults struggle to get by on their own to just pay their bills early on.
If they’re struggling with a mental disorder or a disease it can be hard to find the funds to pay for their appointments, treatments, and even medication.
Teenagers can also struggle as many depend on their parents to fund them. Parents may not be the most financially stable so these teenagers may find it hard to reach out to them as they may find it hard to ask for help and put even more stress on a stressed out parent.
Nowadays we can fix this issue by using apps, video calls or by using mental health classes such as talking to a trusted counselor or teacher around you.
Apps make it easier to talk to people because you can talk anonymously to a stranger and oddly it can be easier.
This is because you don’t necessarily have to interact with a person as you can even talk to an AI chat bot that can help you resolve your issues.
So reaching out to who or whatever makes you comfortable can help you tremendously and maybe even solve a few of your problems.
