While many students coast through high school just doing the bare minimum and graduating with Bs and Cs, there are some kids that will do everything in their power to do it right and give themselves as much of a headstart into adult life as they can.
Two specific students at Lakeland High School are really trying to do great things before they graduate, with one shooting for Valedictorian and the other trying to graduate with her associates degree.
While both are amazing students and will go far, burnout is a common thing in high school students, and it would be surprise to no one if these two star students experience feelings of it when they enter their senior year.
Junior Kylea Bartram is taking only college classes, and her schedule is jam packed with classes on both the high school and college campuses, one student teaching class with her mom at the elementary school, and some online classes over the summer.
She is hoping to graduate with her associates degree so she can get right into her next two years of college, working to follow in her mom’s footsteps and become an elementary school teacher.
Junior Stormy Lawson is getting college credits but not looking to have her first two years of college completely finished, just simply trying to get the credits she needs to reach Valedictorian status.
Both juniors are trying to get ahead of the game, but will it cost them?
Burnout is really common in the average teenager, so for these two to experience it would not be a shock. Both girls already experience it this year, so there is no doubt it will be present in their senior year as well.
In the end, burnout can be a struggle, but by taking it slow and doing one thing at a time, these two high achievers can make it through high school without going crazy.
