Interview with student: Cheyenna Sardina
When people watch a cheer routine they tend to pay attention to the bright smiled flyers, flipping and being tossed in the air, but there is another vital piece of the show. She sometimes goes unnoticed and is not always front and center, but she is the foundation and strength. She is a base on the cheer team and she has to be reliable. She goes around making corny jokes that never fail to make people laugh. She is a light for God without being the star of the show. Sardinha is a sophomore at Lakeland High School. She is a vital member of the cheer team and she loves doing nails. She is goofy, fair, and honest. She is someone people feel safe around.
About you:
Who: Cheyenne Sardinha
From: North Carolina
Occupational: student and nail tech
Passions: Cheer, Teaching, Cosmetology, Socializing, Family, and God
WHO ARE YOU AS A PERSON?
As a person I’d say I’m pretty strong minded. Once I set my mind to something, it’s kind of hard to change back, but I’d also say I’m very fair about my decisions. When it comes to talking to others and disputing differences, I feel like I give everyone an even shot.
DESCRIBE A TYPICAL DAY?
On a typical day, my alarm goes off around 6:10, but i dont end up getting out of bed till around 6:35 because I like to sleep in. I throw on clothes that I thought of last night and I go to school. After school I’m going to start going to track practices to help out because I’m a manager. But other than that i like doing nails after school and stuff.
WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU’LL BE IN 10 YEARS?
I’ll probably be at an elementary school somewhere teaching cute little kids because that’s what I’d really like to do. I might be doing something in cosmetology and doing nails or doing hair.
YOUR DREAMS ARE:
Becoming an elementary school teacher
Move back to North Carolina
Have a family
YOUR IDEAL LIFE:
Moving back to North Carolina, having a family, two kids, and being an elementary school teacher. And then having all my colleagues think I’m funny and hilarious, and the nicest person ever.
WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?
I’m passionate about people getting along and being fair with each other and just having the mind set of, you don’t know what that person is going through. I just kind of push everyone to have a Christ centered mindset, like what if that person just found out really bad news and that’s why they’re not being very nice. Just give everyone grace.
TELL ME ABOUT YOUR FAITH:
I am very proud of my faith and how much I’ve grown in it. I used to be uncomfortable telling people I was Christian, not because I was ashamed of it or to be a daughter of God but because I knew so little and I felt bad calling myself Christian because of that. But now I feel like I’m thriving in his glory and definitely know a lot more.
