| The Lakeland High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter traveled to Boise this week to compete at the state leadership conference, and several students returned home with impressive finishes against some of the top competitors in Idaho.
Senior Emma Diane teamed up with Piper Schneider in the Economic Research Team event, where the duo placed fifth overall out of more than 20 teams. Competing against some of the strongest business students in the state, Diane and Schneider presented their research project with confidence and professionalism. Their top-five finish highlights the hours of preparation and detailed analysis they put into the competition. Schneider also found individual success at state. Competing in Basic Office Systems, she placed in the top 10 out of more than 25 competitors, finishing somewhere between fourth and tenth overall. The event tests students’ knowledge of office procedures, technology, and workplace skills. Schneider’s strong performance in both a team and individual event capped off an impressive showing at the state level. Bridget Derbyshire added to Lakeland’s success by placing in the top 10 in Health Administration Procedures. Facing a competitive field of more than 30 students, Derbyshire earned a spot among the state’s best, finishing between fourth and tenth place. The event focuses on medical office knowledge, patient procedures, and administrative responsibilities, making her accomplishment even more notable. With multiple top-10 finishes and a top-five team result, Lakeland’s BPA chapter proved it can compete with the best in Idaho. The state conference in Boise not only showcased the students’ academic and professional skills but also reflected the dedication and preparation that goes into representing Lakeland on a statewide stage. |
