When the five-minute warning bell rings in the morning to signal school is soon in session, the very likely future Valedictorian for the Lakeland Class of 2027 gets to work. She settles in, answers the daily question meant to get her mind kicked in, and completes any work she may have missed the night before.
When the teacher calls the class to gain their attention and the students settle around her, she turns her attention forward, prepared to listen to and engage in whatever it is that the teacher is going to talk about that day. She goes through her first period alert, soaking up every word the teacher says and taking notes to prepare for her next exam.
When there are about two minutes left in class, she packs up her school supplies, grabs her lunchbox, and prepares to head to her next class, where the process repeats. In between classes, she’s bubbly and talkative. During class, she’s focused and intent on doing her very best.
Stormy Lawson takes great care in maintaining straight A’s through all of her classes, in both the college and high school levels. She’s on track to make Valedictorian status, currently ranked first in her class of graduates. Her schedule for next year is full of classes aiming to make sure she reaches that status. A majority of those are college level classes, allowing her to get a jump-start on her college career while still in high school.
She has worked hard through her first two and a half years of high school, taking honors classes to put herself a step ahead. She has also taken a summer class and will take another this coming summer, giving up part of her freedom to, once again, put herself ahead. Her current GPA stands at 4.0 unweighted and 4.643 weighted.
Stormy has wisely chosen the classes she needs to be in to graduate first in her class, and she follows through with it, actively trying in the classes so she is able to reach her goal.
Aside from the constant grind to make it out of high school at the top of her class, her bubbly and creative personality draws a select few in. Her enthusiasm levels scare off the normal, anti-social teenager, but for her band of friends, she fits right in, offering a bright light where others don’t shine.
She inspires those around her to work hard. Most kids her age will goof off during lectures, turning to friends and being disruptive. When people are near Stormy, they are more focused, more driven to do well because she doesn’t acknowledge the disruption, just works through it and continues to do the best she can.
While Stormy Lawson may be considered weird and nerdy, she is anything but that. She works hard, keeps her friends entertained, and helps others be better.
