Looking forward to the bright future that lies ahead, is Garrett Snyder, a senior at Lakeland high school.
He went to North Idaho Stem Charter from kindergarten to sophomore year, then he transferred to Lakeland. This built a strong foundation for his education, and gave him a great work ethic.
He has worked very hard to be able to graduate with an associates degree making his college a little shorter and less expensive.
He has enjoyed many sports throughout high school including swimming, wrestling and most of all, water polo.
Snyder went to the Junior Olympics in Texas for many years participating in water polo. He has been playing water polo since he was around 13 years old. Garrett plays water polo all year and will be missing it when he goes off to college, especially the friends he has made there.
“My favorite part about water polo is hanging out with my bros,” said Garrett.
Snyder is going to Boise State to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.
Garrett Snyder has many family members that live in Boise so he will be able to connect with cousins that he hasn’t seen in a long time.
One of his best friends, Brock Raebel, is also going to Boise State for mechanical engineering, giving Garrett a close friend on the same path as him.
Garrett has known Brock for a very long time and plays water polo with him. They are often found hanging out and playing poker with other friends from water polo.
Garrett Snyder is constantly doing something from hanging out with his friends, playing water polo, going to church, and spending time with his family. He enjoys playing cards with friends and family, especially poker and cribbage.
In the summer he plans on working as a landscaper to make some money for college. Snyder enjoys physical work and staying active in a manual job.
“I like exercising and staying active because it helps me feel more productive,” said Garrett Snyder.
After college Snyder wants to continue to live in Idaho since his family has been here for six generations and he has grown up here his whole life.
Garrett’s future is looking bright and he is very eager to see what it holds.
