Jacob Holan is a senior here at Lakeland High school. Jacob is one of my close friends, and is overall a great guy to have as a friend. Jacob values time with friends and family, and always keeps himself busy by going to school events and going out with friends on the weekends. The best way I can describe him is as a joyful and energetic person, who is passionate about his thoughts, and will let you know how he feels.
Jacob has a younger sister, Sophia, who is a junior here at LHS and a stepsister his age, Gracie. He’s an extremely protective and generous brother. Jacob’s parents are divorced, so he lives half his time here in Rathdrum with his mom, stepdad, his two step-siblings, and two half siblings. The other half he lives with his dad all the way in the South Side of Spokane.
“I do have to drive lots of long distances, but I don’t mind it because I get to spend time with my family and friends,” Jacob said.
Jacob tends to struggle with balance he in finding some time for himself. Between driving his sister around, to driving 45 minutes to get school or friends from his dad’s house, there is little time for much else. On top of that, he has a job at the Local Deli in both locations in Hayden and Rathdrum.
Because Jacob keeps himself busy often, he tries hard to have his own self-interests important to him. Jacob has passion for fashion and watches. He especially likes to dress in more proper or fancy clothing, a style otherwise known as “old money.” He loves collecting watches, and prides himself on his appearance.
“Jacob is one of my best friends, you can always count on him to be there for you, and when in his car you know everybody’s gonna have a good time,” Mason Haller said.
From my own personal experience, I’ve known Jacob since 7th grade, and we only recently reconnected our sophomore year. He’s always fun to be around and is always in a good mood, no matter what. I am usually greeted by him every morning enthusiastically, and it’s sometimes shocking how hyper he is at such an early hour. It’s something I definitely admire in him, and I wish I could have. Jacob has a great sense of fashion, and likes to keep himself proper-looking. You can usually spot him with his corduroy pants, dress shoes, a nice watch, and a big smile on his face.
