Every year Valentines day brings either good memories with friends or loved ones, or a day to just sit and watch rom coms alone.
Either way many people have different traditions they look forward to every year, and everyone’s experiences are a little different.
Valentines day is filled with little things that make it more special like boxes of chocolate, flowers and teddy bears. These all make for fun traditions between couples.
Most people that are in a relationship will be going on dates, and making life long memories.
“I’m going to dinner with my boyfriend and dressing cute,” said Katie Dewey who is looking forward to hanging out with her boyfriend Thor.
Valentines day gives another reason for couples like Katie and Thor to have a fun and romantic date together.
But Valentines day isn’t just celebrated by happy couples but also between friends and family who are looking for a good time.
Heleena Clay said she plans to hang out with her mom on Valentines day.
“Valentines day is good even if you don’t have a boyfriend or girlfriend, but you can make the best out of it with your friends or family,” said Clay.
Last year Clay did the same thing and spent the day bonding with her mother, and gave Valentines themed donuts to her friends. Making the day about friends and family instead of romantic relations.
Valentine’s day can also cause people to feel sad or lonely if they don’t have people to spend it with, or it can bring back sad memories from past years.
Lillian Mihara said last year she sat in her room by herself reading rom com books because she didn’t have anyone to hang out with.
“Valentines day is stupid when you don’t have anyone to spend it with,” said Mihara thinking back to last year.
Luckily this year Lillian is hanging out with one of her closest friends Savannah and they plan on going out and doing some of their favorite activities.
So whether people are going out with their significant other, hanging out with friends, or sitting by themselves, Valentine’s day has many memories and traditions attached to it for all to remember.
