Lakeland battled hard but came up short in a tough match up against a talented Lake City team, falling to 7–7 on the season. The Hawks competed throughout the game but were unable to overcome Lake City’s depth and execution down the stretch.
“Playing more aggressively and having a more physical attack would’ve led us to a better result,” Austin Hocking said. “We could’ve had more open gaps instead of running the offense as well.”
Peyton Hillman led Lakeland offensively with 13 points while also grabbing 6 rebounds. Jaron Yager matched Hillman with 13 points and contributed 8 rebounds, providing strong effort on both ends of the floor.
Despite the loss, Lakeland showed resilience and flashes of strong team play. The Hawks will look to bounce back as they return to action this Friday at home against Lewiston.
