The Lakeland Hawks girls basketball team defeated the Moscow Bears on Jan. 24.
In the first half the Hawks came out strong with higher expectations from Moscow. The Hawks played with what they had while missing some players. Although they were struggling they handled the game the best they could that day.
Freshman Jaeli Hoffman scored 24 points for the Hawks, Macy Bretveld and Mariana Bullington scored 10 points.
“The defense was struggling and was in lots of foul trouble.” Coach Caelyn Caufield said “We could not buy a basket.”
The hawks now are 15-3 and are ranked top seed heading into the 5a district tournament.
LHS will play Coeur d’Alene High School on Jan. 27 at 7 PM.
