Lakeland High School senior Jake Larcher has spent most of his life with a baseball in his hand.
Now, after years of dedication, early mornings, and countless reps in the cage, that lifelong passion has taken him to the next level. Larcher recently announced his full commitment to Corban University, where he will continue his baseball career after graduation an achievement he calls
“A dream come true”
Larcher’s journey began long before he put on a Hawks jersey. Growing up, baseball wasn’t just a sport it was part of his routine, and his motivation. Coaches and teammates say his success isn’t surprising. They’ve watched the way he trains, studies the game, and pushes himself to improve.
“Jake’s the kind of player who shows up early and stays late,” teammate Nate Bevacqua said. “He’s focused, he works hard, and he sets the tone for the rest of us,” he added.
Off the diamond, Larcher brings the same determination to his academics and future goals. His plans at Corban University include not only competing at a collegiate level but continuing to grow as a student-athlete and person.
As the season winds down and graduation nears, Larcher hopes to leave behind more than stats or wins, he hopes his work ethic inspires younger players who share the same dream.
Lakeland High will soon send off another standout athlete, but Jake Larcher’s next chapter is only just beginning.
