Lakeland High School (LHS) Senior Alexander Mura known to friends, teammates, and teachers simply as “AJ” has spent his four years at LHS building a reputation as not only a dedicated athlete, but also one of the school’s most unforgettable personalities. With a sense of humor and an athletic ability, Mura has made his mark both in the classroom and on the field.
Mura has been super helpful on the LHS Varsity Soccer team for three years, earning respect for his speed, skill, and relentless determination. Whether sprinting down the field or firing up his teammates before a big game, he brought energy and heart to every game.
His commitment didn’t stop with soccer.
Mura also does well as a member of the varsity track team, proving his ability and dedication as a two-sport athlete.
“Aj has always been a great teammate, and a great friend,” Lucas Vasquez said.
As graduation approaches, Mura is setting his sights on an exciting future. He plans to attend college to study animal science, inspired by his passion for animals and a desire to pursue a meaningful career in the field. He also hopes to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level, carrying forward the sport that shaped so much of his high school years.
Yet beyond the goals, the big wins, and the hours of hard work, Mura hopes his classmates remember something even simpler, his humor, Mura’s ability to make people laugh has been one of his greatest strengths.
As he steps into the next chapter, Mura leaves Lakeland not only as a two sport athlete, but as the funny, spirited friend who made every day a little better.
