The new year brings a lot of new goals.
Resolutions are a big part of everyone’s new years celebrations. Everyone tells each other their resolutions for the new year and it is the main topic of conversation for a while after new years. Whether this goal has been completed in the past or will be completed in the future is only for the goal-holder to know.
Students at Lakeland High School (LHS) have some big resolutions.
Hilda Kuntz is a sophomore at LHS, “My resolution is to learn how to play the guitar,” she said.
This specific guitar was passed down from her older brother. “I had never really thought about it until this year,” she said.
This is a new resolution for her. Kuntz will fix this guitar and begin her journey by getting a music teacher.
Another student with big goals for the upcoming year is Sequoia Stephens who is another sophomore at LHS. Her goal is to become better academically and physically.
“This has been a goal in the past, and I would say it was completed-ish,” Stephens said.
This year, she plans to do better than the last.
“Every year I learn and grow from my experiences and grow,” Stephens said. She plans to complete this goal by keeping it up. “I will keep up the work and not give up when things get tough,” she said.
Many more students at LHS have resolutions and none of them know if they will be complete. But, they all know that they have the determination and strength to complete the goals by next year.
A sophomore at LHS, Bailey Humphreys, set her sights on getting money. “My goal is to make more money,” she said. This was her last years goal as well, yet she made it possible this year. “I actually have more money this year since I have a job,” Humphreys said. After applying for a lot of jobs, she landed one and made her money dreams come true. Last years resolution was a stepping stone in her journey to success in completing her goals.
