For most people breakfast is an easy meal to skip. However breakfast can benefit you in more ways than you would imagine.
First, eating breakfast helps you focus better. When you wake up, you body has been in a fasting mode, without food for hours. This means your brain is running on low energy. If you try to start your day off without eating a nutritious breakfast it makes it a lot harder to concentrate and stay alert in class.
“Iv noticed that when I skip breakfast, I feel slow, distracted and honesty im quickly to get irritated. Even when I eat something little for breakfast like fruit or toast I feel more ready to get things done,” Kylee Castles said.
Another reason why breakfast matters is that it gives your body the nutrients you miss when you skip it. Many breakfast foods like eggs, yogurt, fruit and even toast provide vitamins, proteins and fibers. These help keep your body healthy and your energy steady. People often end up choosing overeating later in the day or starting of there day with an unhealthy snack. Eating in the mornings helps balance your appetite so you make better food choices as your day goes on.
Breakfast also sets the tone for healthy habits. When you start your day by fueling your body, it’s easier to continue making good decisions later. It’s a small routine that can have a big impact. Even choosing to spend a few minutes eating before leaving the house can cause a calmer and way more organized morning.
Some people say they don’t have time for breakfast or that they are not hungry in the morning.
While that can be true, breakfast doesn’t have to be complicated: a granola bar, a banana or even a smoothie the night before counts.
What matters is you giving your body something to run on, so you don’t start the day on empty. Breakfast might seem like a small part of your day but it really does play a huge role.
