As the school year continues the teachers add things to their walls, take things down, and move the tables. Some teachers bring in their own furniture like chairs and couches.
As days go on teachers find the best places on their desk and find the best decorations.
“I think it makes it a little more festive for the students and it is culturally appropriate for the class I teach,” Rebecca Hasz said. “As far as my table arrangement is concerned it actually frees up a lot of space to have them in pods and it makes it a little more of a collaborative environment.“
Some teachers go all out and have the classroom filled with decor while some teachers prefer simplicity.
Some teachers go as far and let students paint the walls and ceiling tiles. Shelley Asher has two murals in her classroom, she said the student is a beautiful job and it is a great way to remember them.
The decor adds its own touch to one of the many rooms that fill a school.
Kyle Deeter, a math teacher at Lakeland, goes for the more simplistic look. He has LED lights so that way the bright normal lights at school do not blind the students.
He also has scarfs hung up from every soccer club he has visited.
The athletic trainer even rearranged her room. Last year was Madison Walker’s first year and the beginning of this year she made her room her own. She made the most out of her space, finding a way to rearrange to have maximum room.
She has also kept the tradition of seniors painting a brick for their sport with their names in her room. The paintings are a great memory of students and a great way to make a classroom personal.
A little bit of decor can make a bland and boring classroom a little more enjoyable.
