On February 26, 2021 the Lakeland Hawks wrestled at the state tournament. 

The Hawks finished fourth as a team. The Hawks finished behind Jerome, Nampa and Minico with 155.5 points.

At 98 pounds for the Hawks Matt Williams placed 5th. Williams had a quick 23 second pin against Issac DeTemple From Burley in his first round match. In the second round Matt would take a loss in 2 minutes and 39 seconds. In the third round he would take a win with a quick pin 35 seconds. In the fourth round Mat would take a devastating loss in the fight for third place. In the fifth round Mat would beat his Nampa opponent to place fifth.

At 113 representing the Hawks was Relily Saxe would take a rough two and out.

126 pounds was Payton Wysong who would have a first round win with a 9-8 decision. In the second and third round Wysong would lose, taking him out of the tournament.

At 132 Lucas Williams fought hard, but would take two losses and would be bumped out of the tournament.

145 pounds the Hawks had two wrestlers Colton Dow placed sixth. The second wrestler representing Lakeland was Riley Siegford. Riley wrestled hard and would have three pins and a decision in the tournament. Siegford won the title of 145 4a State Champion.

The 152 pound wrestlers were Soren Sabatke and Blaise Wright. Wright would win one and lose two. However, his teammate would go on in the tournament and place fifth.

Copper Johnson wrestled at 160 pounds would place third with a tech fall in 3 minutes and 16 seconds.

Devon Suko wrestled 170 pounds for the Hawks and would place 6th after a devastating 5-4 decision.

At 182 John White would place second after a hard fought match sadly White would lose 7-2

At 195 Hayden Berger placed 5th with a 10-1 win.

Sam Feusier would place second with a 3-1 loss to his Middleton opponent.

The Hawks had a great weekend and won many important matches that helped them beat their other opponents. For some of the seniors this was there last time wrestling in a tournament.
