The final meet before the Lakeland track team travels to state occurred in Lewiston on May 10.
Weston Saputski took first place in both the 100-meter and the 200-meter, with a time of 11.33 seconds and 22.62 seconds, respectively.
Ethan Abbott took second place in the 400-meter with a time of 51.55 seconds.
Apolo Gratzinger, Jaron Yager, Kayden Karle and Saputski took first place in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 43.87 seconds, which was a PR for the group.
Scott Glass, Peyton Sardinha, Abbott and Gratzinger took second place in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3 minutes and 34.79 seconds, also setting a PR.
Sapphire Ruelle took first place in the 100-meter with a time of 12.70 seconds and first place in the 200-meter with a time of 26 seconds.
Regan Wright, Melia Gilbert, Karstyn Kiefer and Ruelle set a PR and received first place in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 49.52 seconds.
“I ran in the 4×200-meter the day before, which went super well, and we are close to beating the school record,” Natalee Rose said. “Beating it would be exciting since a record has already been broken this season, and I’d love to be a part of adding another one.”
Districts were extremely successful for both the boys and girls, and there is high anticipation as the end of the season gets even closer. All athletes who placed in a top two spot in their event will travel to Mountain View High School in Meridian, Idaho, on May 17 and 18.
