On April 26, Lakeland High School videoed its annual lip dub. This year, it was a little bit empty but also the most spirited.
The lip dub was initially supposed to have two practice runs, and then the third run would be the final product, but due to unscheduled ISATs, it had to be condensed down to one practice run, and then the second run would be the final.
“Overall, it turned out really well,” Allison Knoll said.
A committee of Jackie Robbie and Aiden Craigen decided where all the teams and clubs were and the songs that went with them. Gabriel Wee had the job of cutting the songs to fit the video.
So that the students could memorize the song, they sent out a video recording so that they could practice it.
Olivia Gibson thinks that she thought it helped a lot.
“I feel having something to listen to and practice really helped even though I knew the lyrics to Hotline Bling by Drake,” Gibson said.
Knolls’ favorite part was that we added the teachers this year. Colleen Bevacqua and Jacob Munyer sang “Paise Jah in The Moonlight,” a viral song on TikTok.
Gibson said that she has wanted to do this for the last couple of years and was excited to be able to do it this year. She also said it made her feel special since not everybody gets to do it.
Overall, I enjoyed the lip dub, and it is a great way to bring the school together and do something fun that shows how much of a community we are and the great things we can accomplish as a school.
