The Lakeland Hawks track team hosted the Post Falls Trojans in a dual on April 9. The boys Hawks lost 107-48, and the Lady Hawks kept it close with a loss of 80-74.
In the 100-meter dash, Weston Saputski took second place, running a 12.21, narrowly falling short by .8 seconds.
Jaron Yager ran a 24.83 in the 200-meter dash, taking first place by 0.3 seconds. Scott Glass ran a 25.65, making a new personal record for his 200-meter dash, taking third place.
In the 400-meter dash, Ryan Engelbrecht ran a 57.50, giving himself a new person record and taking third place for the Hawks.
Jayden Dan-Johnston ran a 2:13.83 in the 800-meter dash, taking second place for the Hawks.
Dan-Johnston also took second in the 1600-meter with a time of 5:04.74, along with Noah Best, who took third with a time of 5:05.22
In the 3200-meter dash, Frank McCarthy took first place with a time of 10:50.14, and taking second place was Charlie Matilla with a time of 11:03.25
In the 110-meter hurdles, Alexander Mura took second with 20.72, setting a new personal record, and shortly after that, he ran the 300-meter hurdles and took first with a time of 48.44.
The Lakeland 4×1 team took first with a time of 45.39, setting a personal record; also, the 4×2 ran a 1:34.21 and took second place.
Ben Roth took second place in javelin and threw a 131’7.
Additionally, the Lady Hawks had plenty to celebrate with placement.
Sapphire Ruelle ran a 13.56 and took first in the 100-meter dash, along with Natalee Rose, who ran a 14.60 and took third.
Back again in the 200-meter, Ruelle ran a 28.37 and took second place.
Maddison Chapple took first in the 1600-meter with a time of 6:01.54 and first in the 3200-meter with a time of 13:01.
Alana Hinkle took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.4, and Bailey Chadwell took third with a time of 19.5
The Hawks dominated in the 300-meter hurdles, with all top 3 spots filled by Lakeland athletes, and Hinkle took first with a time of 54.80.
The 4×1 took first with a time of 54.76, and the 4×2 took second with a time of 1:53.95.
Jackie Robbins took first in the disc with a throw of 113.
Jacqueline Gallus took first in the javelin with a throw of 78’9.
Ziya Munyer took second in the long jump with a 14’.55.
The Hawks’ next meet is the Pasco Invite on April 13.
