Construction… construction… construction. Silverwood has been under construction for years now.
Working on adding new attractions has been on the agenda for a long time, as more attractions mean more people and more revenue for the park.
Silverwood Theme Park was officially opened in the spring of 1988.
According to Silverwood Express, the theme park’s name was decided when founder ]\/[‘Gary Norton pondered what to name the park. He thought the park’s name should be connected to North Idaho’s landscape. Silver mines and forests were the first things that came to mind, and the name Silverwood was born.
Since 1988, Silverwood has seen an enormous amount of changes and improvements.
Rollercoasters, the waterpark, and new adrenaline-rushing rides have been added to increase the fun experience for the whole family.
The most noticeable attraction added in the past ten years is the spin cycle. This purple and white gyrating machine can be seen from the freeway and is sure to make at least one person throw up. The ride features a circle attached to a pole on an axis. When the ride takes off, the circle starts spinning, and the pole goes around in a circle, creating the perfect ride to shake you up.
The newest attraction, however, is the only one in the Pacific Northwest.
A water roller coaster. One thing that can only be seen in more extensive theme parks now is going to be offered at Silverwood starting in the summer of 2024. The new attraction will be in the water park, the only water roller coaster in the Pacific Northwest.
With this new attraction, it will attract more people. More people means more money, but it also means that Silverwood will need more help to deal with the influx of people.
Many teens in Lakeland High School (LHS) work their first job at Silverwood. Working hot, long days isn’t the most exciting thing ever, but it allows students to get their first look into the workforce. It will enable them to give back to the community and get paid for it.
With Silverwood hiring many teens as young as 14, it is no wonder why they receive an influx of applications from young residents.
