The Lakeland Hawks track team had their second track meet on Mar. 19.
In the 100-meter dash, Weston Saputski came in first for the boys, and Apolo Gratzinger came in third. Sapphire Ruelle came in first for the girls.
“I did pretty good, I can work on my acceleration and getting out of the blocks,” Saputski said. “I feel like the team can improve on better handoffs for relays.”
In the 200-meter dash, Weston Saputski came in first, and Jaron Yager came in second for the boys, while the girls had Sapphire Ruelle come in first.
For the 400 meter, Ethan Abbott got first place.
In the 800 meter, Jayden Dan-Johnston came in second.
In the 1600 meter, Parker Sterling came in second, Jayden Dan-Johnston came in third, and Maddison Chapple came in second for the girls.
For the 3200 meters, Parker Sterling came in first, and for the girls, Maddison Chapple came in first.
For the 110-meter hurdles, Crash Kirby came in third, and for the girls, 100-meter hurdles, Karstyn Kiefer came in second.
In the 300 meters, Alexander Mura came in second, Karstyn Kiefer came in second, and Alana Hinkle came in third for the girls.
In the 4×100 relay, Apolo Gratzingel, Evan Randall, Jaron Yager, and Weston Saputski placed first. In the girls, Regan Wright, Melia Gilbert, Karstyn Kiefer, and Sapphire Ruelle came in first.
4×200 relay Apolo Gratzinger, Ethan Abbott, Jaron Yager, and Weston Saputski came in first, and for the girls, Bailey Chadwell, Melia Gilbert, Karstyn Kiefer, and Sapphire Ruelle.
“I joined track to get faster for football,” Saputski said. “Getting 1:33 was my favorite part about the meet.”
The 4×400 Apolo Gratzinger, Peyton Sardinha, Ethan Abbott, and Jaron Yager came in first.
For discus, Jackie Robbins came in second place for girls.
Kayden Karle came in first for the high jump for the boys.
Kros O’brian came in second for pole vault, and Alana Hinkle came in second for the girls.
For the long jump, Garret Hall came in third place for the boys, Melia Gilbert came in second, and Regan Wright came in third.
In the triple jump, Garret Hall came in first, and for the girls, Ziya Munyer came in first, and Bailey Chadwell came in third.
