Lakeland High School’s own Alyse McCraken was installed as North Idaho’s new lieutenant governor of Key Clubs across North Idaho.
This significant accomplishment was achieved when the LHS Key Club went to the Key Club PNW District Convention from March 8 to 10.
The last time that Key Club went to the PNW Convention was ten years ago.
“It was a great experience that allowed key clubbers to attend workshops, gain leadership skills, share ideas and interact with other Key Club members from all across the Pacific Northwest,” Micheal Pitassi, Key Club’s administrator, said.
Overall, the convention was an excellent experience for all the participants who attended the event.
While the event was in Portland, Oregon, the drive was well worth it for all the experiences the Key Club members gained from the convention.
Alyse McCracken was appointed lieutenant governor of all Key Clubs in North Idaho.
“I am very excited to have this opportunity to serve my community,” McCracken said.
Being the lieutenant governor, she holds much more responsibility, yet she is still a freshman.
McCracken has an influx of plans and ideas that she would like to start implementing. Her goal is to make an impact.
Even though she is a new Key Club member, she sure is starting to make a difference.
Key Club is an international organization that empowers students to give back to their community by volunteering and other acts.
While Key Club is small, they always put in the work.
They can be seen bell ringing for the Salvation Army or helping out at John Brown Elementary.
Meetings for Key Club mostly happen on Wednesdays during lunch, and they will install new officers March 20.
During meetings, they will organize plans to volunteer in the community, wrap things like blankets or clothes to donate, or reflect on their past accomplishments, which has been an overloading amount of them.
