The Lakeland Hawks Cheer team competed in the Timberlake Tiger Competition at Timberlake High School on Feb. 3. The Hawks took first place in 4A Sideline, first in junior varsity Pom, and second in 4A All-Girl Show.
This was the last regular season competition before districts. The Hawks moved to the All Girl division, and then lost to the grand champions, the Sandpoint Bulldogs.
Head Coach Cynthia Peck is disappointed with their performance but is excited and ready for districts.
“We could have used our elite skills better. I think we hold back in that department,” Peck said.
As a senior, I have done cheer since my sophomore year, and it is sad for me to think about how this was my last competition before districts.
I am nervous for districts, but I am also super excited to show the schools around Lakeland High School that we deserve to win districts again.
The Hawks will compete in Districts on Feb. 10 at Lewiston High School.
