With the Battle for the Paddle fast approaching, Lakeland High School is doing everything they can to make sure that the fundraising goes exactly as planned.
“We are in full panic mode, we are making up where we can, and we are rolling with the punches,” Knoll said.
This comes after an expected snowstorm hit Rathdrum Idaho which included over 5 inches of snow that led to a snow day for the school. This got rid of one day of the extended lunch passes, the annual Alumni Game had to be postponed to January 18th, which is the same night as the Bingo Night, which are two of the biggest fundraisers for this competition.
With this weather slowly ending, it is supposed to start up again on the day of the event, which raised questions on whether it will even take place.
Matt Neff, athletic director at LHS, confirmed that the games will go on despite the weather
If this were to happen, Battle for the Paddle would be moved to Saturday Jan. 20, at the same time.
As of now, tickets for this yearly event are sold out.
