As December slowly passes by and winter starts to take off, many people travel to either get away from the cold snow or do more activities in it.
While families, friends, and others plan trips, the most common question is, “Where do we go?” If you are not sure where to travel this season, then this list is for you.
- Aspen, Colorado
Aspen is known for its winter season and world-class skiing. The city is also beautiful in the winter. Most people put Aspen at the top of their list because it combines adventure and luxury for the perfect vacation.
While I have never actually visited Aspen, my family who has visited there has had nothing but wonderful things to say about the city.
2. Lake Placid, New York
Lake Placid is not only home to the Winter Olympic Games but also has tons of things to offer on its own. If you like to ice skate, then the rink on Mirror Lake is the place for you.
If you are more of a hiking, adventurous person, then explore the Whiteface Mountain and take in the lovely scenery.
You could also just hang out in the cabin with family and friends, maybe even learn about some of the city’s history.
3. Lake Tahoe, Nevada
While most people visit Lake Tahoe in the summer, winter is the best time to go. Tahoe looks amazing in the winter and even offers a variety of activities.
Most people like to describe Tahoe as a Utopian destination. It is an amazing place to visit, and the fun never stops.
If you’re not a winter person and like to get away from the snow, then don’t worry because the next two places are warm and cozy vacations.
4. Key West, Florida
Key West is mostly known for its laid-back life and how the city thrives at night. Most people would call Key West a tropical heaven.
If you are looking to get away to a warm, cozy place, Key West is the way to go.
You can explore the history of the town and bask in the sun on the beaches.
Key West is one of the best places to go in the winter, and who wouldn’t want to take a trip to Florida in the winter?
5. Maui, Hawaii
Maui, Hawaii is not only great for its weather but also its wide variety of activities.
You can watch the beautiful sunsets and rises on the beach, and during the day, you can go snorkeling in the crystal blue waters.
Maui is another perfect escape from the cold bitterness of the winter, and the UV rays will have you feeling energetic and happy throughout the day.
If you’re looking for the perfect getaway this winter, I would recommend one of these five places. Whether you want to do more winter activities or just want to get out of the cold and back into the sun, this list can help be a guide for the next time you find yourself asking, “So where do we go?”
