When people think of the holiday season, gifts, snow and yummy hot cocoa come to mind. Yes, these are great parts of the holiday season but is that truly what it is all about?
One thing that is essential to remember is that the holiday season is not just about receiving, but also about giving and showing kindness.
Growing up, I never thought of the holiday season as giving. I was always just excited for the gifts on Christmas morning.
As I have grown into a teenager, I have seen a lot more than I did then.
Many families struggle just to make ends meet and are not always able to give their families the holidays they want. This makes me sad because they should not be sad that they cannot give the perfect gifts.
They should just be happy that they can spend time with their family.
I enjoy everything about the holiday season, but for many, it is difficult.
As I said, the holiday season can be very hard for many, but it is also a time of joy, celebration and family, which many would consider the best time of the year.
Brook Caparco says that to her, the holiday season is about spending time with family and eating food.
“I always think about the holiday goodies,” Caparco said.
Nolan Spanko says that the holiday season to him is spending time with family and friends.
“I think of hanging out with my family during Christmas and Thanksgiving,” Spankko said.
Spending time with family is a great way to spend the holidays because siblings from college or family in other states come and visit and friends and family can make memories that will stay with them forever.
It will forever be important to remind yourself that not everyone has a great holiday season so even a smile can make a difference in the way they feel about this time of year.
