On Nov. 18, Lakeland’s acting department headed to Post Falls High School to compete in this year’s Drama District Competition.
Many students performed monologues, comedy skits and musical theatre songs to show off costumes and set pieces they made in hopes of a chance to advance to the state competition.
In total, the acting department had 40 entries and won 4th place as a team.
For many students, competing in districts is an incredible and fun opportunity to perform a variety of pieces.
Lincoln Wood is an alternate in the Original Serious category in which he performed a serious monologue he wrote. Lucy Schenkenberger is an alternate in the Solo Humorous category in which she performed a long humorous monologue.
Four students were honored with the award to move onto the state competition.
Going to state is Rebekah Lewis, who placed third in Solo Audition in which she performed two short contrasting monologues.
