The Humans of Lakeland features members of the LHS community. This is the eighteenth in the series.
“I would say something that has been on my mind recently is finding a healthy balance between work and home life and family life. I think it is important for the sake of mental health and just overall well-being. Living a balanced life. If you get too caught up with one thing, you can go crazy, so it is important to have more than one thing that has your attention such as hobbies for your enjoyment, work to give you a sense of purpose, getting outside, and family. Also, it is important to allow time for yourself. Knowing your limits, not filling your time with too much, prioritizing your well-being, and scheduling nothing every once in a while. I have learned it is important to learn how to say no to things every once in a while, and there is a way to do that without hurting anyone’s feelings. I would like to remind teachers and students to have their priorities right and to remember what is important. Taking care of yourself should be your number one priority, so don’t let school or work stress you out too much. Make peace with yourself.”
