The Lakeland Hawks boy’s soccer team took a significant 4-0 loss against the Lake City Timberwolves on Sept. 26.
Lakeland senior goalie Jacob Ludwick had a fantastic game with 15 saves. This made him a player of the game because of his significant strive to defend the Timberwolves’ passes. Coaches, teammates and family all were very proud of Ludwick and his outstanding performance against Lake City.
Lakeland has had 19 goals throughout the season so far. On the other hand, Lake City has had 56. Lakeland has had eight assists, and Lake City had 44. The Hawks were significantly challenged against the 5A squad.
Nevertheless, the boys took on the competition with high-held chins and accepted the challenge. Amazing plays were executed by the Hawks, and the defense was able to combat the Timberwolves’ plays.
Giving it their all was all the coaching staff could ask for from the team, and that is exactly what they did. Some terrific blocks and passes were carried out.
Players were tired on both teams, but keeping their spirits up permitted them to finish the game with some good plays and comebacks. Overall, this game may have been a tough loss, but the Hawks will continue to grow off experience. With teams coming in strong, sometimes it is hard to adapt and easy to get angry.
Lakeland is scheduled to play the Sandpoint Bulldogs at home on Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m.
