When most people think of their school life, they think about how difficult it can be. But imagine having to balance sports practice, work, and taking multiple college classes. It can be difficult to do, but it is possible.
Annalie Terzulli, a junior at LHS, is in her third year of cheer. Terzulli not only participates in cheer but also has a part-time job and works hard in school while also balancing her social life.
“Calculus and physics are more challenging,” Terzulli said. “I thought they would be a lot easier than they actually are.”
All of Terzulli’s classes are college classes, even though she is a junior. Still, Terzulli somehow finds time for her favorite hobbies.
“(I do) Cheer, I read a lot, I like experimenting with makeup and I like listening to Taylor Swift,” Terzulli said.
Terzulli admits that it can be difficult to balance everything that she does. However, having many things on her plate challenges her to push herself.
“It’s hard, but I just practice good time management,” she said.
Somehow Terzulli finds the time to stay successful in all of the categories of her life.
Even with all of these activities and responsibilities, Terzulli makes sure everything she does has an impact.
“She is a very positive person and really encouraging to those who need more help or encouragement,” Cynthia Peck said.
Now that Terzulli is going into her junior year of high school, her roles and responsibilities are different.
“My freshman year, I was mainly a backspot in cheer, but I am now a backspot and base,” Terzulli said. “I get more opportunity. I also get to help teach the underclassmen more now instead of needing extra help or not knowing what I am doing.”
Like any year, there will be pros and cons for junior year.
Due to Terzulli taking advanced classes, she is able to have a shorter schedule.
“It’s nice because I don’t have as many classes. But I’m also scared because everyone says junior year is the hardest,” said Terzulli.
Junior year is commonly known to be one of the hardest years of school. Terzulli does have some nerves about the upcoming year.
“I like being an upperclassman because I feel more important when it comes to cheer and school,” she said.
Terzulli is working hard this year to balance all of these major parts of her life while still having time for herself and her friends.
“She’s smart and strong, she’s a good listener, she’s my best friend,” Lizzy Duce said. “She lifts me up mentally and physically.”
