The Lakeland Hawks boys soccer team won against the Priest River Spartans (8-0) on Sep.18, adding another win to the column.
Each point in the game was scored by a separate person.
The first points of the game were scored by senior Scott Glass, followed up by freshman Ayden Cragun. Then Wyatt Marcelli was able to put one into the net.
Once the second had hit, Austin Parks was able to score, followed up by Ethan Smith 60 minutes into the match. Senior Nolan Arredondo scored along with Xay Dricketts, and the goalkeeper, Jacob Ludwick, also was able to score.
Glass thought the game went very well, but there is always room for improvement.
“(We can be) passing the ball more, and we could have dribbled into the six-yard line,” Glass said.
Senior Wyatt Holfeltz was very impressed with the outcome of the game.
“I think the game went really well for our team,” Holfeltz said. “Priest River put up a good fight in the beginning. They just couldn’t keep control of the game.”
But just like Glass, he also thinks that the team can always improve in every aspect.
“I think we could have communicated better and kept up two-touch passes,” Holfeltz stated.
The Hawks are gonna have a tough battle against the Moscow Bears. The last time these two teams matched up, they ended with a tie of 1-1.
“I felt really good about playing against Moscow, we are both really good teams, but I think we have it in the bag,” said Holfeltz.
The Hawks’s next game is Saturday, Sep. 23, at Moscow High School.
