‘Personally, I like my Name’
Jacob Varner is a senior at Lakeland High School. He is a kind, welcoming, and very supportive person. He is always willing to listen when it is needed. You can often find him hanging out with his friends, playing sports, or being outdoors.
Q: How long have you gone to Lakeland?
A: “I have attended the Lakeland District for around seven years.”
Q: What are some of your favorite memories at Lakeland?
A: “Battle for the paddle and the boy’s volley tournament. They were super memorable because I got to meet new people and hang out with my friends.”
Q: Do you have any regrets from your years in high school?
A: “No, there isn’t anything that has come to my mind.”
Q: What are your plans for after high school?
A: “I am not super sure. I’ll probably take a couple of classes at NIC.”
Q: What is your dream job?
A: “I would like to be an artist. I am taking pottery which is helpful to see if I would like art in the future.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A: “I think I would probably be working towards an art degree.”
Q: What is one thing you will never do again?
A: “I did wrestling. I would not do it again because I didn’t enjoy getting thrown around.”
Q: Do you believe in second chances?
A: “Yes, everyone makes mistakes. Nobody is perfect, so I believe in giving people a second chance.”
Q: What is a song you say “you don’t” like because it’s kind of embarrassing?
A: “More than my hometown by morgan Wallen. It’s not super embarrassing, but it is a song focusing on emotions which is a little more vulnerable.”
Q: If you were to change your name, what would you change it to? What is your opinion on people changing your name?
A: “I would keep my name, it has a cool meaning, and I am happy with my name. It means the keeper. I don’t care if people change their names. They have free will. Personally, I like my name.”
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: “I like to do sports outside of school, like basketball, football, and baseball. I am super outdoorsy, and I like to take a ride around on my scooter and hang out with friends.”
