“I Had a Dream …”

Stichweh pursues passion for singing at LHS

“I had a dream, I got everything I wanted…”

The starting lyrics of Everything I Wanted by Billie Eilish, is one of Faith Stichweh’s favorite songs. And the Stichweh’s own dreams is to be a singer/songwriter.

At 6-years old,the desire to sing was implanted into the mind of Stichweh. The senior at Lakeland High School’s passion for it has carried on with her to this very day.

In 2013, 2014 and 2016 she took part in the Northwest Christmas Production. She also had the opportunity to perform alongside the amazing, Academy and Oscar Award Winning, actress Patty Duke.

“My first initial reaction was how cool it was,” Stichweh said. “In a way, she felt more like a friend to me even though she was older than me. I remember feeling close to her like I had met her before.”

Stichweh has been a featured soloist and model at the Festival of Trees Fashion Shows at the Coeur d’Alene Resort and also part of the cast in the Christian Community Theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof.

Her love of music has carried on with her high school years. Faith was in an auditioned choir group in middle school called The Falconiers and in another auditioned a capella group at Lakeland High School. This is her second time going to All-State for music.

“It was one of the best choir groups I was ever a part of, and the teacher inspired me to work my way into music,” she said. “My favorite memory would be Large Group where multiple choir groups would travel to a college and perform against each other.”

This event is called Idaho Music Educators Association and All-State will be held in February of 2023 at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Southern Idaho.

Not only is Stichweh a participant in school acapella, but she has also started her own YouTube channel dedicated to her passion for music where you can find her playing on her piano and singing covers of her favorite music.

Soon she’ll be headed to a studio to record her first single and pursue her singing career.

“One of the girls I’m working with wrote a song for me that I will be recording,” Stichweh said. “I’m nervous, excited, and I can’t wait to see what the outcome will be.”
