The Space Force was founded on December 20th, 2019 by John W. Raymond, making the United States the first country in the world to have a Space Force.

The U.S. Space Force is a military service and is part of the Department of the Air Force and is led by the Department of Defense. The Space Force is one of the eight U.S. uniform services and is the smallest armed service in the United States. It currently has 16,000 service members and is expected to grow 20,000 in the next few years.

The space force was first discussed in 1945 at the beginning of the Cold War, but then in September of 1982 the Space Command (which is different from the Space Force) was created. 

The Space Force was created so it could take over the responsibilities of the Space Command, so the United States could have protection from foreign threats and so we could be the first country to have a Space Force.

The Space Force operates military space technology, such as spaceships, satellites and rockets used to launch them into orbit. Programs under the Space Force include the Global Positioning System (GPS), the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program and the Space-Based Infrared System Program. The Space Force also operates the Delta II, Delta IV and Atlas V launch vehicles.

The Space Force first began conducting combat support operations in the Vietnam War and provided satellite communications, weather and navigation support during the 1982 Falklands War, United States invasion of Grenada in 1983, United States bombing of Libya in 1986 and 1989 United States invasion of Panama.

The first major employment of Space Forces culminated in the Gulf War, where they provided critical support to the U.S.-led coalition, and is sometimes referred to as the first space war.

The Space Force believes that since space technology has become very important to both the military and to society that this field requires the same amount of military attention as other service branches.

The service currently controls about $15 billion of the United States annual spending and commands dozens of military satellites and tracks more than 24,000 objects in space.

If you are interested in joining the Space Force the best way to do it is to first enlist in the Air Force then request to be transferred. Currently, there is no way to go straight to the Space Force.
