Prom Lives!
April 19, 2021
Some selected staff at Lakeland High School are trying their best to put on a prom for the Seniors and Juniors this year. Last year, due to COVID-19, the Seniors’ prom was canceled. This left them to make an at-home senior prom.
This year Jenifer Shute and Cynthia Peck are planning another prom for the seniors and our juniors, and the theme will be “A Night To Remember.” The color theme will be silver, black, and gold.
Sources said that if the building asks us to follow guidelines then they will. Also, there are no more social distancing restrictions.
Mrs. Peck stated, “in years before we have had prom outside of the Coeur d’Alene Resort, but this time we are actually hosting inside the Resort.”
Also, the picture stand will be blocked off from the dance floor so that the flashes won’t affect the dance floor and the last from the dance floor won’t affect the picture stand. There will also be the classic dessert table that is open to everyone.
Tickets are going to be sold after spring break and if students are planning to bring students from other schools, they have to sign a form in order to let the school know they’re going.
“I am very excited for prom and I feel even if you don’t have a date, you should still go to hang out with your friends and have a good time,” says Madison Hersh.
Prom is back and it seems it’s going to be one of the best proms ever.
A lot of students are very excited about prom. Make sure you buy your tickets!
