It’s spooky season, but October is not only known for Halloween. It is also known to Rathdrum community members as one of Lakeland booster clubs’ biggest fundraisers: Hawktoberfest.
Businesses, community members, and staff all come together to celebrate October activities and raise money for LHS. Businesses stop by and donate to the event to help LHS.
The event is hosted at the Kootenai county fairgrounds at 5:00 pm on October 25th, so stop by and help support Lakeland. There is a dinner from drumming up barbeque, a dessert raffle, a silent auction, and a live auction.
“We had 251 participants last year with a Net income of $41,172,” Tina Hillman, the president of the boosters club said.
If the team or club takes advantage of donating, that team or club will get 80% of the proceeds given back to them.
“The donations are brought from teams or clubs to auction off,” Hillman said. “We allow any team or club to bring their own donations to us to have auctioned off on their behalf.”
The booster club also gets donations on their behalf. “The proceeds from those funds go back to our general fund to help us fulfill our mission statement,” Hillman said.
Attendees are encouraged to come in their best German outfits, with the best dressed winning a $1000 prize.
People planning to show up are able to buy a table ticket that allows them to bring a group.
The event includes silent and live auctions.
The auction items for the silent auction includes: a one month unlimited membership at Beyouthful Hot Yoga, a men’s self care basket, A North Idaho golf package, a salon and caffeine basket, and many more items.
The live auction items include: A secluded wilderness fishing flight and a romantic dinner flight.
This exciting event is not only for food and fun. It is also put on to help raise money for LHS’ athletics, clubs, and scholarships for students.
