Chloe Neff a leader on the team. She encourages everyone and is a dependable teammate. She is the player every coach asks for.
She is a senior here at Lakeland High School (LHS) and is the starting libero for varsity volleyball.
Neff has been on varsity since sophomore year but it hasn’t always been the most fun.
The underclassmen and the upperclassmen during Chloe’s freshman and sophomore year did not have the greatest connection.
“When I was an underclassmen, if you asked any of the seniors our names they wouldn’t have known one,” Neff said. “The seniors didn’t talk to us at all, so I’m just trying to include everyone and build relationships with everyone.”
Neff’s experience encouraged her to keep working hard and inspired her to treat everyone with respect and kindness. That is why she is the teammate she is today.
“I just go in and show up everyday, and work for everything I have,” Neff said.
Neff’s character has continued to develop and grow throughout high school and volleyball. She has learned over the years to appreciate every opportunity and reach outside your circle.
“Chloe made volleyball a lot of fun and you could feel that she genuinely wanted everyone there and that she really cared about you,” freshman Jaeli Hoffman said.
Neff is planning on taking these attributes and applying them to the medical field where she plans on pursuing a career. Because of Neff’s strong character traits, she has a bright future ahead of her.
