Cooper Allen, a senior at Lakeland High school, is an incredibly well rounded student with many interests and hobbies.
When asked about his hobbies, Allen shared a wide variety of things.
Allen enjoys watching many types of movies, his favorite movie series being the How To Train Your Dragon series by DreamWorks Animation.
He also enjoys the game Magic: The Gathering, a collectible, deck-building, and strategy card game where players act as powerful wizards called “Planeswalkers” to duel their opponents.
Along with those hobbies, Allen claims that he loves sports and enjoys an array of different sports.
For example, Allen does Javellin hammer throwing, an uncommon sport for our time that you do not see a lot of high school students doing these days.
Allen has also come to the decision to try out wrestling this year during his senior year at Lakeland High School to simply try out a new sport.
After graduating from Lakeland High School in June, Allen wants to pursue his career as a painter by trade.
In this career, he will be painting things like homes, hospitals, and other commercial buildings. Allen claims that he got into this career young at the age of 17 because his older brother does it and he enjoys doing the career.
Allen expressed not wanting to attend college and to continue his route as a painter by trade as long as he desires.
“I am excited to not go to college and start my life without any debt,” Allen said.
Some might say that we need more well rounded people like Allen in our school who decide to not go to college to have a successful career.
Either way, students with as many unique interests and a set future as Allen is something we need to see more of.
