The Lakeland Hawks got defeated by Lake City Timberwolves on Sept. 30.
Apolo Gratzinger scored from mid field in the second quarter to get the Hawks on the board, making the score 4-1.
Alexander Mura carried the team with lots of energy even when they were down 3-1.
Ty Van Meeteren had two penalty kick saves, which is the hardest saves to make.
“The first half was rough for us and many men were down but then in the second half we came together as a team and kept them from scoring the rest of the game,” Mura said, “The only thing we could work on is communicating throughout the whole game.”
Although the Hawks lost, they made senior night as memorable as possible.
“Senior night felt unreal. I felt like I had accomplished something,” Lucas Vasquez said, “It’s a moment that was exciting no matter what the score was like.”
The Lakeland Hawks will play the Sandpoint Bulldogs at home on Oct. 1.
“The goal next game is to come in with determination and to keep our heads up the whole game,” Mura said.
